Natural-looking results for fuller cheeks, smoother skin, plumper lips
As we age, collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin begin to degrade. We also begin to lose subcutaneous fat while experiencing bone resorption. These are the foundations for youthful-looking skin.
Aging skin starts to stretch while other factors, such as, sun exposure, heredity and lifestyle begin to take a toll causing volume loss and wrinkles resulting in a tired and no longer youthful appearance.
Dermal fillers are a non-surgical injectable treatment option available at Coastal Skin Solutions used to address the signs of aging for refreshed, more youthful-looking skin. Some benefits include the softening of fine lines and diminishing and smoothing-out of wrinkles. Fillers are often used to replace soft tissue volume loss by adding fullness and contouring and can even be used to plump the upper and lower lips. Fillers are also widely used to improve the look of recessed scars.
Common treatment areas include cheeks, under eyes, lips, chin, nasolabial folds (creases that extend from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth), jawline, marionette lines, and even the hands.
Most Dermal Fillers (with the exception of Radiesse®) are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) – the natural filler substance in your body. HA gives the skin a plump, hydrated look and replenishes the body’s natural hyaluronic acid. Radiesse® is a calcium-based filler that is not metabolized in the body as quickly as HA, so it has been demonstrated to last longer.
Coastal Skin Solutions offers a complete selection of FDA-approved Dermal Fillers from the top portfolios in the aesthetic industry to fill, plump and soften, augment and contour the face.

What Should I Expect?
Depending on the number of areas being treated, the process of numbing, injecting, massaging, evaluating the results, and adding more filler, if needed, may be as short as fifteen minutes or as long as half an hour. The amount of filler administered depends on the depth and size of the area being treated. You may be offered an ice pack to reduce swelling and alleviate discomfort afterwards. The areas treated may be a bit tender for a day or two, but usually not painful enough to require any medication.
Dermal Filler injections require very minimal downtime, allowing patients to resume their normal activities directly following treatment. For the first 24-48 hours to minimize swelling and bruising, you may be instructed to refrain from strenuous activities and excessive sun or heat exposure.
Results are apparent immediately and improve as any swelling or bruising dissipates, and the product integrates into the tissue. Results typically last from six to twelve months, depending on the injection site and volume. The filler is naturally broken down and metabolized by the body without any long-term negative side effects. Depending upon your goals, the effects will gradually fade, so touch-ups once or twice a year will maintain the look.

Dermal Fillers FAQ. 3 Things to Know!
Do you always get the same amount of filler each time?
Dermal Fillers do not stop your skin from aging completely, so you could need more filler to get the same results over time.
What if you are not happy with the results?
If you are not happy with your results, remember they are temporary. Further, hyaluronic acid fillers (i.e. the majority of fillers) are simply dissolved with hyaluronidase.
Are there bad times to get Dermal Filler injections?
There are a few good reasons to postpone an injection. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or battling a sinus infection. Any infection in the facial area could spread to the injection site. Don’t get a filler right before a teeth cleaning or other dental treatment which require pressure and stretching of the face that could potentially misplace fillers before they have integrated into the tissue.
